Faith Baptist Deaf Mission |

The Pastoral Team Leaders, and Deaf Ministry Chairperson will be involved in every decision and every meeting, planning the events for Faith Baptist Deaf Mission. Be sure to report to and seek advice from both teams.
Speaker Contact person:
This person will contact speakers and arrange for them to come and preach. This
person will work closely with the Deaf Ministry Chairperson and make any
arrangements for honorariums, etc. This person will be responsible for
advertising the services and making sure the Deaf Community is aware of the Deaf
Church service.
Opening Assembly Leader:
This person will lead the service, plan a service schedule, be sure someone is
ready to lead in prayer or lead him self, welcome visitors, and announcements,
introduce speakers and other duties. this person will work closely with the Deaf
Ministry Chairperson concerning details about the church service.
Music Director:
This person will lead the group in songs and be responsible for special music.
It is important that Music Chairperson shows a positive attitude and helps
everyone to get their hearts ready for worship.
Usher Chairperson:
This person will be responsible for ushers for each service to collect the money
and prayers requests. Before the service he will have ushers ready to give out
prayer requests and welcome visitors. the ushers will also be watchful for any
disturbance in the service that needs to be taken care of as well as people with
special needs.
Covered Dish Luncheon Chairperson:
This person will be responsible for contracting people to bring enough
foods and drinks for a Crowd after Luncheon Service. This person will be
responsible to set up to serve the food and be sure we will sufficient napkins,
plates, cups and etc. Table Display Chairperson
can be appointed by chairperson. This person will be responsible for any
displays and for any vendor tables and Covered Dish Luncheon.
Drama Chairperson:
This person will be responsible for dramas as a part of the church service. he
or she will direct the group, arrange for practice, costumes, makeup and others
items needed to make the performance come alive for the Deaf Congregation.
Christmas Party Chairperson:
We have a very large outreach to the Deaf community every year with the Christmas
Party. The attendance grows each year. this person will be responsible for
speakers, door prizes, decorations, food menu, room reservations, advertising,
etc. This person will need a committee to assist.
Sunday School
The Deaf Ministry Sunday School Class is the most important outreach that we have. it is an important time for learning, sharing, supporting and showing our faithfulness.
Sunday School Director:
All Sunday School Class teachers will have an opportunity to reach during each
year. We will follow the curriculum of our church and or the Lifeway Resources
or another approved lesson source. A teacher must be prepared spiritually,
mentally, and emotionally to stand and teach God's word. This person will be
responsible for ordering the new Sunday School books, materials, etc on
quarterly basic and also work closely to the Adult Sunday School teacher and
Children's Sunday School teacher as well.
Sunday School Secretary:
The Class Secretary is a very important job. We must be sure that everyone who
attends the class is counted every Sunday. This person will be responsible for
adding and deleting names from the class roll. this person will work closely
with The Sunday School Director and the
Outreach Director to be sure
absentees as well as visitors are contacted Names and address are important as
they represent souls that we are responsible for.
Prayer Chain Coordinator:
This person is responsible to get information to every one concerning all prayer
requests and or praise reports, either by E-mail, Pager or TDD. this
person will work closely with class shepherds and secretary. everyone is
responsible to report any prayer requests. We will collect written prayer
requests in Sunday School and any other reliable source. This person will report
to the class every Sunday prayer requests and important events that we need to
know about. this person will report any death, hospital or sickness information
the person who will be sending out cards.
Website Outreach:
This person will need to skilled in computers
enough to update and continue to keep our ministry Webpage updated. We
want the Webpage to draw people with interesting and up to date information
about our Deaf Ministry. It is our only source of advertising regularly.
E-Mail Outreach:
This person will need to skilled in computers enough to update and
continue to keep our ministry E-Mail updated. We want the E-Mail to
draw people with interesting and up to date information about our Deaf
Ministry. It is our only source of advertising regularly.
ABCD:
The Alabama Baptist Conference of the
Deaf (ABCD) is an important event in the Deaf
Ministry and we should always be represented at the annual meetings. This person
will give out the necessary applications each year within the group and encourage
people to attend the meeting and workshop.
Education
Teachers:
The Sign Language Class teachers will need
to skilled in sign language enough to communicate with the Deaf. They will need
a program and schedule and try to make the classes as informative and
interesting as possible.

Visitation and Outreach
Outreach
Director:
This person will also make sure to be aware of what, where, or who our members
or teachers sick or dying or absent to keep in touch with each members and
Teamleaders. This person will work very close with the Sunday School
Secretary and Sunday School Director. This person will collect names
and address of new visitors of our church in order to make a team to visit or
contact. Then this person will give out names and address to visitation teams
each week. The Teams will make the contact and report back to the Chairperson.
The Chairperson will keep records as to who was visited and the results.
Team Leader:
The team leaders will take one or two
people on a visit. The leader will know how to approach a person and explain the
plan of salvation with them. The team members will be there to assist and
pray. The leader will see if there are immediate needs in the home and will
report back to the Chairperson.
Team Members:
The team members will go on visits with
the leader and assist and pray during the visit. All the visits will be in
homes, hospitals, funeral home, etc and will be for different reasons. Sometimes
a person is sick, sometime a person has been absent from Sunday School and
Church, sometimes it may be a death in family. There are many reasons we need to
be visiting. A rule to remember is that you will act and speak as if Jesus
were standing next to you and a member of your team. Only do and say those
things you would not be ashamed for Jesus to hear and see. He knows
everything but sometimes we forget.
Public Relations Director:
Our weekly newsletter or
E-mail is the most widely read newsletter in Alabama. We have responses
every week from people who have read our newsletter or E-Mail. We have
heard from people who were saved, people who were encouraged, people who wanted
to share a prayer request with us and even used our Bible Story to teach there
Sunday School Classes. The newsletter must be positive and not prone to spread
gossip. The person responsible for the newsletter and E-Mail will
keep the ministry mailing names and addresses updated. All address changes,
additions and deletions must be reported to the church office so the church
records will also be up to date at all ties.
Team Leader Secretary:
The person responsible for this ministry with the
Outreach Director
and Sunday School Secretary
to send out cards for different
occasions such as birthdays, wedding anniversaries, sickness, new babies,
graduation, encouragement, death, thank you , etc. This has been a very
effective part of our outreach ministry. People are touched that we remembered
an important date in their life. the person responsible for this ministry will
keep up an up-to-date list of all important dates in the Deaf Ministry members
and friends lives.
Other Activities:
Through the year we will planning
different activities such as parties, baby showers, receptions, dinners,
meetings, etc. We will need a team of people to volunteer to help with all these
extra events. When the events happen, the team will meet and divide the various
responsibilities.
